At approximately 8:15 AM this morning a small fire started in a Biddeford Intermediate School classroom. The cause is under investigation by the Fire Department, and is believed to be related to the building's mechanical controls. School personnel acted quickly to extinguish the fire and sound the alarm. The Biddeford Police and Fire Departments responded quickly. Upon further inspection, the Fire Department declared the building safe at 8:52 AM. We thank our emergency services and school staff for their professionalism and quick response.
