Karl Lebreux

Karl Lebreux, middle-level athletic administrator for the Biddeford School Department, has been honored with the prestigious Excellence in Middle-Level Athletic Administration Award by the Maine Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (MIAAA). This statewide recognition celebrates Lebreux’s exceptional leadership and dedication to middle school athletics, highlighting his significant impact on the development and success of student-athletes across the region.

In addition to his full-time role as a social sciences teacher at Biddeford High School, Lebreux serves as the middle-level athletic administrator for Biddeford Middle School and Biddeford Intermediate School. He oversees all aspects of the athletic program, including hiring coaches, managing budgets, scheduling games, coordinating officials, and supervising events, ensuring that student-athletes have access to well-organized and supportive opportunities to compete and grow.

“Karl’s leadership, dedication, and organizational skills are a tremendous asset to our athletic program,” said Dennis Walton, Athletic Administrator at Biddeford High School. “He manages the full scope of middle school athletics with a level of professionalism and care that ensures every student-athlete is supported and set up for success. His work goes above and beyond, and this recognition is a reflection of his exceptional contributions.”

Superintendent Jeremy Ray echoed that sentiment: “Karl exemplifies what it means to be a student-centered leader. His ability to manage a full teaching schedule while simultaneously running a successful athletic program is nothing short of remarkable. We’re incredibly proud of his work and grateful to have him as part of the Biddeford School Department.”

Lebreux expressed his gratitude upon receiving the award: “I am deeply honored to receive this recognition, but I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge the incredible support I’ve received from my colleagues, our administration, and the entire Biddeford community. The success of our athletic programs is a team effort, and I’m proud to be part of such a dedicated group of people who put students first. This award is a reflection of all the hard work we do together.”

The MIAAA’s Excellence in Middle-Level Athletic Administration Award is presented annually to one administrator in Maine who demonstrates exemplary service, leadership, and commitment to middle-level education-based athletics. Lebreux was recognized during the MIAAA’s annual conference earlier this month.
