A Haunting Production Brought to Life by Talented Students
On November 21, 22, and 23 at 7:00 p.m., Biddeford High School (BHS) Drama Club will delve into the chilling world of Edgar Allan Poe, bringing his classic tales to the stage in a unique student-created production titled Nevermore: Edgar Allan Poe(ms). This dark and captivating performance has been crafted entirely by students, who took on roles as directors, producers, playwrights, and designers to make this show a reality.
With Edgar Allan Poe’s works in the public domain, the students have creatively adapted two of his most famous pieces, The Tell-Tale Heart and The Raven, into a one-hour production that is both spellbinding and eerie. The show features over 20 students who contribute both on and off stage, managing tasks such as lighting, sound, hair and makeup, and performing in various roles. Each student has contributed their talents to develop this hauntingly beautiful piece, which has quickly become a highlight of the fall semester at BHS.
"We’re thrilled to see our students take such creative ownership in bringing Edgar Allan Poe’s work to life," said Elizabeth Joseph, BHS Drama Club Director. "This show is truly a testament to their dedication and passion for the arts, and we can’t wait to share it with the community."
The performances will be held in the Little Theatre at Biddeford High School. All three shows are open to the public with general admission seating, and tickets are available for $5 at the door.
For an unforgettable evening filled with mystery, suspense, and the spirit of Edgar Allan Poe, join the BHS Drama Club and experience Nevermore: Edgar Allan Poe(ms).
