Thanks to a tremendous community effort, Phase I of the Waterhouse Field Renovation is complete featuring new bleachers, fencing, lighting, and a digital scoreboard! We are now preparing for Phase II which consists of upgrading the field, minor aesthetics, and installation of donor pavers. To date, we have raised $262,309.88 in cash donations and pledges. Yet, we still need to raise $100,000 to reach our goal.
Phase II will be approximately $950,000. This is prior to requesting RFPs and securing donations via a reduction in fees. If we reach our fundraising goal, the remaining cost to complete the project can be absorbed in the school budget with no tax increase. This is directly related to the increase of Development efforts, such as the Biddeford Education Foundation, which supports other programs taxpayers would have to cover.
So, please join your neighbors who have already purchased a paver or bleacher row before they get installed. You can honor or memorialize a loved one or recognize your business and it will be seen by thousands of people a year while supporting a vital community asset.
