Recently 18 residential construction companies in Southern Maine took time out from their busy season to host approximately 150 golfers for a Sunday filled with good sportsmanship and fun. The tournament raised $6,270 to be split between the residential construction programs at the Biddeford and Sanford Regional Centers of Technology, York County’s two Career & Technical High schools.
The cross-regional golf tournament took place at Dunegrass Country Club and was led by Deering Lumber President, C.D. Armstrong, and Dan Laskey, a long-time supporter of the Biddeford Regional Center of Technology.
“This golf tournament has been led by Dan for the last five years,” said C.D. Armstrong, president of Deering Lumber. “We are thankful for our major sponsors and those who played in the tournament to have the opportunity to support the Biddeford and Sanford Regional Centers of Technology.”
Participating sponsors include Anderson, Azec, Boise Cascade, Bluelinx, Rockway Smith, Boston Ceder, Coastal Forest Products, Dewalt, Huber, Huttig Building Products, Kleer, Mathews Brothers, Maine Wood Treaters, Prime Source, Timber Trading and Trex.
Sanford will use the funds to purchase new eBooks for their carpentry program and Biddeford’s program has purchased Chromebooks to be used in class by their students.
